Recipe Request

Hey everyone, I have a request to make. At some point during my time in Southridge someone made some great peanut butter brownies with some type of peanut butter icing. I think it was Bekah, but I'm not sure. Bekah, if it's you could you post the recipe up for me and everyone else to enjoy? If it's not you, can you or anyone else remember who made it or how to make it. Thanks. A pregnant lady will greatly appreciate it. ;)

News

Hey everyone. I hope you're all doing fantastic. I just wanted to let you all know that we're going to have a boy. And any tips from anyone would be extremely helpful since I have virtually no experience with boys whatsoever. I think he might get called "princess" every now and then. ;) Other than that, not much is going on with us. We're waiting to hear back from grad schools, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Arizona. We've already heard back from Utah, and Morgan was accepted. Yeah! So we know for sure we will be going to grad school.

Responsibility

So, after four months of being a bum, I've finally decided to take on some responsibility. Only, I think I have gone too far. I got two jobs, two callings, I'm taking an online class, I'm still volunteering, and I'm frantically trying to find a car to buy. My two jobs are at elementary schools. One is a behavioral aide, helping with "explosive" kindergartners. The other is teaching a few afterschool clubs: book club, multicultural club, and arts and crafts. My two callings are being a Sunday School teacher for the retirement center that is connected with our ward(I teach my first lesson this Sunday, wish me luck) and being the basketball coach for the young women(our first game is tomorrow, wish me luck). I'm taking an online class to get a non-profit organization certificate so that maybe one day I can start one for old people. For some reason, I thought the adjective "online" meant it was easier than a real class, but it's almost twice as much work. I'm still volunteering for a hospice, one of my favorite old men just died. It's always sad to walk by his room. The hard part about volunteering lately is that my supervisor is used to me being a bum and could always rely on me and call me to fill in at a moment's notice. Now when she calls me, I'm a teeny bit busier, but it's so hard to say, "Sorry, I can't go visit someone who is dying alone, I'm too tired." So I usually go anyway. Not having a car is making everything a little bit more difficult. Yet, after I buy a car I wonder if not having any money will be just as difficult. So that's my life. Sorry I haven't written for awhile.
Oh yah, Paris was great.

Welcome to the New Blogger

Hey everyone, we've upgraded! We're now functioning on the new version of blogger, which apparently will do amazing things for us. You'll have to switch your accounts over to the new version. It's not hard; you should have gotten a new invitation already. Or, next time you try to sign in, they may tell you to switch. All you need is a google (gmail) account, which I think most of us have already (if you don't have one, you can create one as your switching your account) Basically, you just put in your user name and password, agree to the terms of service, then sign in with your google account. That's all there is to it! Until you do it, you can still make comments, you just won't be able to create any new posts.

Oh, and Grace is now officially a walking maniac. Meaning she's a maniac about walking, not literally a maniac walking around.

"The Married World"

Well everyone, I just thought I would let you all know, that I am now a certified work-a-holic. That is why I have been absent form the blog for so long (but where are Brandy, Erin, and Ashley, who have made appearances onthe blog, but then never come back? Just thought I would ask). I am trying to recover, but it has been hard. I am mostly trying to work less because I promised Julie I would so that I could join all of you in "The Married World". She keeps trying to tell me it's worth it, but seeing as how I have never visited, I am still a little wary. But, I did promise I would try so I agreed to go to a dance this weekend with a friend. Don't expect too much Julie, just because dances worked for you doesn't mean it works for everyone. Maybe your dancing skills are more entrancing than mine. We'll see.

Hi guys:>

Hope you all had a wonderful break:> We had a very nice time in Atlanta--the best parts being good food, nice weather, and wonderful hikes/nature walks. Eli got absolutely spoiled--out of our control however!! I guess that is what happens to the first grandbaby!! The first few days of the vacation were interesting as Eli's 2nd tooth came in and he didn't want to be held by anyone but mom and dad--all the relatives thought Eli didn't like them! However, as soon as the tooth popped Eli was extremely happy and he had a great time with everybody--thank goodness! We got home last night at 2am after about 8 hrs worth of flying and a couple hrs of driving, and a lot of time spent in airports. We ended up volunteering to get off one of the flights so that we could get 400 dollar vouchers--exciting--but made for a VERY long day. Luckily Eli was an angel!! And, on the last flight we got first class (3hr trip) which was wonderful--otherwise I might have died from clastraphobia in the tiny cramped coach seats. Also, Eli slept for the last 4 hrs of the trip--everything went so smoothly, huge blessing as traveling by air is one of my least favorite things!! And, 400 dollar vouchers are fantastic. Yeah so, we went from Atlanta, to Cincinatti, to Houston, to SLC on the way home!! Eli has already been all over the country and is just barely 8 months. My first flight was at age 18!! haha! Anyway, just wanted to say hi to y'all and wish you the happiest new year!

Happy Birthday to Puga (and me)!!

We decided that I should share my birthday with Puga, since we never found out exactly when his birthday is. It is around this time of year, we just don't know the exact date. But we made him a "cake" out of canned dog food and got him some new toys and some new chew treats and made him wear a Mater hat and it was fun! My birthday has been great, too. It's weird to think I'm another year older, but hey! That's life!!

We ended up staying here for Christmas and we're really glad we made that decision. It was so much fun! I hope you guys all had a great Christmas and a fun New Year!! I love you!!!!!!!!

Love the pic:> Anyway, I don't really have anything to say but wanted to wish y'all a very very Merry Christmas!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Just wanted to say Merry Christmas before we scatter the the four corners of the world....not that we're not scattered already!! We leave for PA on Christmas Eve...everyone else will already be there, but we've decided that a week with either family is the max! But it should be fun. I hope you guys all have a great Christmas. I'm grateful for this time of year...it's always so nice to reflect on the Savior's birth and His atoning sacrafice. The last couple of Christmases I've been struck with how Mary must have felt as she prepared to give birth. There she was, knowing that she was carrying the Son of God, the Savior of the world...and she ends up spending that important night, a night that she probably planned and planned for, in a stable. I don't know what she thought about that...she could have thought "This is not what I planned!" or she could have seen the significance...which is probably more likely. But, every now and then I get to thinking that about my life. "This is not what I planned!!" We don't have kids, don't know when we will, I help my husband run a magic company and we're in debt up to our ears...yadda, yadda, yadda. And then I remember Mary and I think, goodness, if she could give birth to the Savior of the world in a stable and everything turned out ok there, I think I can deal! Anyway, that's my little insight for the Christmas season.
This picture was the front of our Christmas card...a card that never went out, by the way, so don't feel bad that you didn't get one! But we tried to take pictures of all three of us in front of the tree, but Puga didn't want to cooperate, so we used this one instead! He's a cute puppy.

OK! Merry Christmas!

Lesson

Hi all...
I am trying to get a lesson ready for Relief society for Sunday. This lesson is such a good talk that I think that you should all read it, especially because this it will be Christmas Eve. It is a talk from the last conference. I remember listening to it, but reading it and feeling so busy right now, it made me think about why we celebrate the season. I think that you should all take a minute and read it! And by chance if you have any ideas about teaching the lesson that would be nice to hear also. I hope that everyone is having a good day! Merry Christmas!

I guess I should tell you what the talk is... It is Discipleship by President Faust.

News

So the most exciting thing happening in our family right now is. . .we're expecting! I'm about three months along. We had our first appointment with the midwives last week. It was great to hear the baby's heartbeat. I'm never sure if I'm really pregnant until I hear the heartbeat. The baby is due June 18th. We don't know yet if it's a boy or a girl, Morgan really wants a boy. Apparently he's had enough girl time with me and Grace, and my six sisters. ;) So, that's it. Wow, can you picture Grace as an older sister, weird. Brandy, you'll have to give me some pointers on handling two kids. :)

Well... Hello Guys

Hello... How are all of you? I am great... I will give you an update of what I am doing and things. Now get cozy... A long time ago like maybe 10 months I met this guy and fell in love. We decided to get married july 1 and soon after we got married we moved to Japan and that is where i am living now. I love it here. it is really fun. I live about an hour outside of Tokyo. And to add a little more to the story when i got here i started looking for a teaching job and got interviews and offers but nothing seemed right. Well just a little while after that i started getting very very sick. Well i am now 17 weeks pregnant. Woooah you all say... yes I tell you your life sure can change and change fast! In 10 months.. in kelly's words... met someone got married moved out of the country got pregnant and i couldnt be happier! My mom just came to visit and left the other day. But we had this things this week called "Christmas Around the World." Well the scouts did Mexico. So they made some cookies and made some prok dish. (my house is a MESS!!!) I found out the night before that i had to decorate for it.... I have nothing from Mexico with me. So i went to the 100 yen store.. Even better than a dollar store... It is 5 floors and has everything you could ever want or not want so much. Well i found some things that kind of looked like they were from mexico and wow.. we had a great table from mexico.. BUt the night of the event no one showed up.. Sad:( oh well... I had to get a presentation on the stage and i had fun! I dont know about anyone else! Well that is about all here... Alison taught me how to post something on here.. I am a little slow when it comes to computers. So now i can do it. I also remember my password now. Yea... Go Julie.. Let me know when you are coming to visit. We have a guestroom for you.. it is waiting for visitors!
Have a fun day! I am going to get ready for bed now... I am sleepy!
