Lesson

Hi all...
I am trying to get a lesson ready for Relief society for Sunday. This lesson is such a good talk that I think that you should all read it, especially because this it will be Christmas Eve. It is a talk from the last conference. I remember listening to it, but reading it and feeling so busy right now, it made me think about why we celebrate the season. I think that you should all take a minute and read it! And by chance if you have any ideas about teaching the lesson that would be nice to hear also. I hope that everyone is having a good day! Merry Christmas!

I guess I should tell you what the talk is... It is Discipleship by President Faust.

Thanks Julie--I'll be sure to read it again. Good luck with the lesson--I just opened to it right now and am scanning thru it and already I agree with you--perfect for this time of yr! I think I am going to post the little list that President Faust gives about things we can emulate about the Savior on my fridge--what perfect things to be thinking about as we prepare to celebrate Chirst's birth. Thanks again for the idea Julie:>

We actually went over that talk for fhe a couple weeks ago, good talk. I think I need to read it again, though, if you want lesson ideas. So I have a question for you. How do they do enrichment in Japan?

Katie... Well you are a great teacher.. what fun/good ideas do you have? Anything?
Alison... They are really fun over here! We have plays and cookies and people get mad and run away sometimes. I think you should come to our next one.
Morgan... Thanks. I think that will go over very smoothly. You have some great ideas! I think that you are just about the SMARTEST person ever! I dont know how you do it!

Ok Julie--here's my idea:> I'm really excited about it...are you ready? Ok...here it goes:

Wrap up one two or 3 "gifts" (depending on how many people are in the class) in one gift put the word "peace", in another the word "happiness", in another the word "love" (or whatever words you what to emphasize). For each gift wrap them in lots of layers--use newspaper, wrapping paper, bubble wrap, whatever stuff you want. Make the top layer is nice and pretty. Then play the game where you play some music while passing the gift from person to person (you can do Christmas music!!) and when it stops they have to start opening the gift (with one hand or with mitts on or something like that)when it starts again they have to keep passing it, etc. When the gifts are open talk about how excited they were to open these gifts...go on to talk about the many precious gifts the Savior has given us. Then you could say, as we think about that we should think about what we can give him in return. Then you can go into the talk and how discipleship is about the best gift we can give and when the Savior has done so much for us it is the least we can do for him. If there are lots of people then do a couple of smaller games at the same time.

If you think that is crazy then just have those words wrpped up and ask for volunteers to open them and you can talk about each as they are opened.

I have no idea if any of that made sense--but hope it triggers some ideas for ya--good luck:>
